We have all heard about the body needing 8 hours of rest, well that is beneficial for the skin too. Adequate rest helps the skin to rejuvenate. It gives the skin a chance to repair, re-balance and renew, which is important for calming most skin conditions, clearing up breakouts and improving a healthy complexion. Lack of sleep increases your cortisol (stress hormone) levels, which can trigger symptoms such as dark puffy eyes.
